From being in an abusive environment to a successful entrepreneur | Alpha m and Beerbiceps | Podcast Review 1
Welcome to the first blog in the "Podcast review" series. I'll be reviewing here some intellectual and deep podcasts for our smart listeners. Here's my first review on Beerbiceps and Alpha m Podcast.
Here's a summary of that podcast.
"Being short is not a handicap"
Alpha m believes that being short is not a personality fault or handicap. Being 170 cm tall himself he never let this affect his confidence and believes the same for other short guys too. One should never let this become an excuse for not going after his goals, not dating the girl or guy he wants, or make money and feeling accomplished. It's a personality trait and one is beautiful in their way.
"Growing up with two abusive fathers never lead me to stand up for myself"
Aaron then talks to Ranveer on how his relationship with his two abusive fathers led him to never stand up from himself and how it negatively affected his confidence. Confrontation scared him and it wasn't until he was 24 that he decided to change the things around for himself.
He also opens up about his other insecurity of not reading books and believes that the world places a lot of value to people who read books. He went to a special school so grammar and punctuation have always been his weakness and he would lie to people about his favorite book until he got comfortable with the fact that reading isn't for everyone.
"Dark times are the time that defines us."
Ranveer asks alpha m about the dark phases in his life to which he responds that strength, character, and toughness are built by the dark times his life. Growing up poor, bankruptcy, failing business all were essential to him and critical for his development. Pick dark times as a motivation to build ourselves up for success.
"Youtube in 2032"
Alpha m loves to make youtube videos and will continue to do so in the next 10 years. However, he has no idea where the platform would be going in the next 10 years as 5 years plan never works for him.
"Entrepreneur journey is a lonely journey"
Alpha m then recalls the best and worst part of shark tank experience and tells how he was able to connect and network with many different creative entrepreneurs and things that surprised him really was that how many smart people were present there. Being submerged in the sea of entrepreneurs was great.
The worst experience of shark tank for him was that he wasn't able to make as many sales of his style system as he expected. He wasn't able to make the deal and wasn't able to make sales for the first time he went there. There was a huge decompression afterward and he was "depressed" for some days.
"Americans are spoiled brats"
Alpha m, while expanding on the worst part of being American is that most Americans are soft. They feel entitled to success and comfort but the truth is they are insulated from the harsh reality of life. Most of them are soft but COVID-19 situation might toughen them up a bit.
The best part of being American he believes is that America is a land of opportunities. Anyone with an idea, internet connection, and willingness to work hard can achieve success here. America wants everyone to be comfortable here and this is the thing that immigrants respect the most about the land of opportunities.
"My wife has been my rock"
Aaron who has been successfully married for 13 years thinks that relationships are hard. Relations are hard and require work and time. They are not amazing all the time and anyone who believes them to be rosy all the time have their assumptions not based on reality. Work ethic and compassionate hard work are the 2 things that attracted him to his wife.
"One of my big businesses has to go"
Being asked on his future business goals, Alpha m responded that at one point he plans to sell off his one or both business and take initiatives to help other entrepreneurs. He also plans on more angel investing and taking his sunglasses and clothing brand further and for that one of his existing companies has to go.
My review
This podcast was very interesting and kept me hooked until the end. Conversations were engaging and topics were interesting too. Certainly, at some points, the "gap" between the interactions were slightly noticeable but that's understandable since style and way of talking of an American and Indian differ. But overall it was fun to watch and will provide some value in people's life.
